Down comes Latham Circle
Demolition began on the Latham Circle Mall today, Colonie town officials are reporting.
Machinery is in place, and one wall has already been taken down. Schenectady-based Jackson Demolition received the go-ahead from National Grid to begin demolition and informed the town's Office of Planning and Economic Development earlier today.
The Daily Gazette reported last December that a Boston developer has big plans to take the moribund mall back to its 1957 roots, transforming it into an open-air plaza with an entertainment venue, grocer, restaurant and retailers. Lowe’s, J.C. Penney and a 10-screen Regal Cinemas will remain, but everything else will come down and be redeveloped into a new facility with an entirely new image and a new name: The Shoppes at Latham Circle.
Construction is expected to be complete by spring 2014, a delay from the original goal of fall 2013.

......LOL, is that how you change the image, by using a pretentious spelling of Shops?....
