New digs for SACC
Schenectady Access Cable Council has a new home at 34 Jay St. across from the U.S. Post Office.
Technically, SACC has been using the site as storage since the end of last year. It finally unpacked and got studio operations up and running recently, though, and the Chamber of Schenectady County celebrated the distinction with a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning.
The council says it has encouraged the continued availability of access programs for cable casting on channels 16 and 32 in Schenectady County since 1974, and produces videos for local individuals and organizations. It originally broadcast from 115 N. Broadway, which is now occupied by Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County.
SACC Executive Director Randall Hogue said the opening has allowed the council to produce more than 45 videos in the last several months.
