Boot camp, anyone?
Sunmark Federal Credit Union and the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber are encouraging new businesses and entrepreneurs to participate in a new grant contest announced today.
The Sunmark Business Grant contest will give participants the chance to win a seat in the Chamber's Entrepreneur Boot Camp, which kicks off in January, and $1,000 in a Sunmark business savings account.
The deadline is Friday, Nov. 22, to submit an entry. Both organizations are helping candidates enter with an advice session this Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at Sunmark's corporate headquarters at 1187 Troy-Schenectady Rd. in Latham.
Local business experts will be on hand, including Tom Evans, of SCORE; Sarah Gold, of Gold Law Firm; Janet Tanguay and Nick Vaugh, of the chamber; and David Weinstein, of Sunmark Federal Credit Union.
Candidates who wish to attend should bring their written plans, materials and questions about business plans, financials, legal, marketing and social media.
