MVP CEO elected to Business Council board
MVP Health Care President and CEO Denise Gonick has been elected to the board of directors of The Business Council of New York State.
The council is a statewide business organization consisting of everything from Fortune 500 businesses to small businesses, chambers of commerce, nonprofits and educational institutions, among other organizations. They work to create good jobs and economic growth, and advocate for policies that would improve the state's business climate.
Gonick was named president and CEO of MVP in Schenectady in December 2012. She previously worked at Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and practiced public sector labor law, representing the state Governor's Office of Employee Relations and the School Administrators Association of New York State.
She is also a trustee of Union Graduate College, where she serves on the Finance Committee. She serves on various boards, including the Center for Economic Growth, HealtheConnections in Syracuse, the New York Health Plan Association and Proctors in Schenectady.
