Don’t even think about calling it the da Vinci robot anymore.
The da Vinci Surgical System robot that assists doctors doing certain surgeries at Saratoga Hospital will now be called “Doc Bot.”
A first-grader at Division Street Elementary School gave the robot its name in a contest the hospital held for local elementary school students.
Makayla McMaster, 6, came up with the winning name, and drew a picture of the robot and doctor operating on a patient.
She and six finalists were honored Friday at the hospital and will be invited back on a Saturday to suit up and practice on the robot.
