Too little, too late for Union.
The Dutchmen scored two late third-period goals against Harvard goalie Kyle Richter, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 3-2 Crimson victory in an ECAC Hockey game at Messa Rink.
The Crimson took a 2-0 lead in the first period against starting goalie Justin Mrazek on goals by Alex Biega and Matt McCollem. Corey Milan replaced Mrazek to start the second period, and allowed a third-period power-play goal by Paul Dufault that made it 3-0.
Sam Bowles ignited a Dutchmen rally when he banked a shot off Richter’s right pad with 3:21 left. Matt Cook scored an extra-attacker goal 18.7 seconds left. The Dutchmen were pressuring Richter as time expired.
The Dutchmen host Dartmouth at 7 p.m. Saturday.
