A Saratoga Springs City School District bus driver has been charged with inappropriately touching two teenage boys.

Douglas G. Conrad, 35, of 151 Jefferson St., was arrested Wednesday evening and charged with four counts of forcible touching, a misdemeanor.

Police said Conrad inappropriately touched two 14-year-old boys on four dates in February, April and September 2007 in his apartment.

Conrad is in Saratoga County jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He has been placed on paid administrative leave from his school district job, said Thomas Mele, assistant superintendent for elementary education.

The district is conducting an internal investigation, Mele said. Conrad has driven a school bus there since 2004.

Police said the alleged incidents had nothing to do with Conrad’s work for the school district, and they are asking any other potential victims to come forward.

In three of the criminal counts, police said Conrad touched the boys’ genitals, and in the other he tried to touch a boy’s buttocks, arrest papers said.

Conrad lived in Mechanicville when he filed an application with the state to get clearance to drive the school bus. He had no prior criminal history.

He is due back in City Court March 18.
