Tom Rigatti has been named news director at WROW (590-AM).
Rigatti had been news director at Amsterdam’s WVTL (1570-AM) since 2006. He also reported for WVTL’s sister station, WBUG (101.1-FM).
Rigatti has been recognized by the Associated Press for his work at the Empire Radio Network, where he was responsible for the operation of the network’s Capital Region news bureau that provided news to affiliates across the state. He earned a degree in communications from Hofstra University.
Scott Allen Miller, WROW’s program director and morning drive host, said Rigatti will join the WROW on-air team Monday. He will be heard during afternoon broadcasts.
Rigatti replaces Mike Carey, who left the station to join the area’s new talk station, WCBI (1300-AM).
