Andrew Buote scored with 6:05 left in the third period Friday, snapping a 2-2 tie and lifting Union to a 3-2 come-from-behind ECAC Hockey victory over Cornell.

The victory moves the Dutchmen one point ahead of the Big Red for the final ECACH tournament home-ice berth.

Matt Cook scored twice, becoming the first Union player to accomplish that this season. He scored his first goal with 3:07 left, cutting into Cornell’s 2-1 lead.

Cook tied it 4:23 into the third, redirecting a Brendan Milnamow left-point shot past goalie Ben Scrivens.

Union goalie Justin Mrazek made 25 saves to help the Dutchmen sweep the season series.

More on this game in Saturday’s paper, and on my blog later tonight.
