Electricity has been restored to more than 100 National Grid customers who lost power on the south side of Amsterdam and in the Town of Florida following an accident on Daniel Street this morning.

City police said a Liberty Enterprises bus sheared off two utility poles in the 7:30 a.m. crash. Liberty spokeswoman Barbara Wool said the small bus had only one occupant, the driver, and she was not injured.

Wool said the driver was headed down the hilly section of Daniel Street when the bus hit a patch of ice and slid off the right side of the road.

National Grid reported 107 customers without power in the Town of Florida and another 16 out in the city. National Grid spokesman Chris Finkle said crews had to replace two utility poles.

Several National Grid trucks were on the scene most of Monday, and power outages were no longer listed in Montgomery County on the National Grid Web site by 3:30 p.m.
