With a higher offer having fallen through, the county will instead apparently sell the empty Victory Specialty Packaging mill in Victory to the real estate company that redeveloped Harmony Mills in Cohoes.

County officials were informed Wednesday that Calibre Investment Group New York of St. Petersburg, Fla., has withdrawn its offer, which would have included a non-refundable deposit of $100,000, with promises of restoration and eventual repayment of all back taxes owed on the historic mill.

Instead, Riverview Realty will be sold the building outright for $50,000.

“We are disappointed to hear that we will not be able to work with Calibre to further their exploration of the property, but we are pleased to be able to continue to move forward with putting this property back on the county tax rolls by working with Riverview Realty,” said Supervisor Mary Ann Johnson, R-Day, chairwoman of the county equalization and assessment committee.
