Bethlehem girls stun Amsterdam in Class AA semifinal

Bethlehem hands Amsterdam its first loss in the Class AA girls' semifinals.

Meg Olsen scored 21 points Wednesday, leading Bethlehem to a 51-45 upset of previously undefeated Amsterdam in the Section II Class AA Girls’ Basketball Tournament at Hudson Valley Community College.

The Eagles (21-2) were 17-for-23 from the foul line, while the Rams, the top-ranked team in the state, was 20 of 37.

Meg Power led the Rams (22-1) with 13 points.

Bethlehem reaches its first section final since winning the 2003 Class A title, and will play Suburban Council rival Shenendehowa Saturday at 5:15 at HVCC.
