A Gloversville Enlarged School District tutor who once ran for a seat on the district’s Board of Education was charged this morning with having oral sex with a teenaged boy.
William D. Cross, 54, of West Street, was charged with second-degree criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child. Police said the victim was not a student tutored by Cross.
Cross was arraigned in City Court where bail was set at $50,000.
The arrest followed a complaint alleging Cross had contact with a boy younger than age 15 on March 21, police said.
School officials did not immediately return a call seeking information on Cross’ employment history.
