Union men’s hockey freshman forward Adam Presizniuk was named the team’s most valuable player at the Dutchmen hockey banquet Sunday at the Glens Sanders Mansion.
Presizniuk, who led the Dutchmen in scoring with even goals and 18 assists, was also named the team’s rookie of the year. He was an All-Rookie ECAC Hockey selection. Presizniuk was the first Union freshman to lead the team in scoring since Chris Ford in 1993-94.
Junior forward Matt Cook was honored twice. He won the Charles Morrison Award, which honors a student who participates in extracurricular activities while demonstrating academic interest and achievement, and the Seventh Player Award.
Freshman forward Andrew Buote won the Scott Richardson Award as the team’s unsung hero. Seniors Michael Beynon and Sam Bowles shared the Coaches Award. Junior defenseman Mike Harr was named most improved player. Junior forward Chris Potts earned the Thomas Van Arden Dukehart Award for highest grade-point average.
