The state on Friday gave the New York Racing Association another extension of its temporary authority to run New York’s three thoroughbred horse racing tracks, including Saratoga Race Course.

The Nonprofit Racing Association Oversight Board voted unanimously to grant a franchise extension through July 13.

A law enacted in February to give NYRA a new 25-year racing franchise has not yet gone into effect, necessitating the extension.

NYRA’s prior long-term franchise expired at the end of last year. Meanwhile, it has now received four temporary franchise extensions this year from the Oversight Board, the third of which was due to expire Sunday.
