A Gloversville man has been indicted in the overdose death of a 33-year-old Washington Street woman last May.
The sealed indictment opened today accuses Joseph Labadia, 27, of East Fulton Street, of supplying methadone and a hypodermic needle. He is also accused of failing to seek medical attention for Stephanie Hudson when she exhibited an adverse physical reaction to the methadone injection.
Labadia is charged with criminally negligent homicide, fourth- and fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.
He was arrested today at a residence in Indian Lake and turned over to Gloversville Police.
Hudson was found dead in her apartment, police said, and a subsequent autopsy attributed the death to an overdose of methadone.
Labadia was arraigned in County Court before Supreme Court Judge Richard T. Aulisi, who set bail at $25,000.
Gloversville Police Chief Edgar Beaudin said the investigation was lengthy, partly because if took some time to get the results of the toxicology analysis.
