Entries are now being accepted for the Gazette Women’s Best Ball Championship, June 21 at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course.

Entry fee is $100 per team and includes golf, cart, refreshments, range balls and prizes. There will be prizes in both the gross and net divisions.

Pat Mayne of Pinehaven Country Club and Karen Feldman of Olde Kinderhook are the defending champions.

The tournament is open to women 18 years of age and older. Maximum handicap difference is 15. Handicap and club indexes are required on the application for verification of entry. The tournament will be limited to the first 60 teams.

u The Gazette Men’s County Amateur Golf Championship will be played June 13-15 at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course. Entry fee is $40. There will be a cut to the low 40 and ties after the first round and to the low 20 and ties after the second round. This is a scratch event. Entry blanks appear in the Gazette sports page.

u The Family & Child Service of Schenectady’s third annual Spring Golf Drop will be held June 6 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Stadium Golf Club. Golf balls can be purchased for $10 each. The three golf balls dropped closest to the pin will win the three top prizes, which include two Southwest Airline tickets to anywhere Southwest flies and $2,000 in cash for traveling. The second-pplace prize includes two round-trip tickets to Montreal and $250 traveling cash. The third-place prize is “The Taste of Schenectady Package,” which includdes a night at the Parker Inn, two Proctor’s tickets and a dinner at Aperitivo. u The 30th annual Rotterdam Sunrise Rotary Invitational Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 12 at Mohawk River Country Club

HOLES-IN-ONE

Bob Smith holed out with a 9-iron on the third hole at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course.

Also at Schenectady Muny, Marc Bosy aced that same third hole with a 9-iron while competing in the Tonoy Renna league.

Tony Giaquinto aced the third hole at Schenectady Municipal while playing in the Mohawk Valley Fordway league.

With a 6-iron, Art MacAloney holed out on the 160-yard sixth hole on the white nine at Western Turnpike Golf Course.

Paul Sicluna hit a 6-iron for his ace on the 171-yard 17th hole at Airway Meadows Golf Club.

At Briar Creek, Guido Fracassi’s 6-iron shot found the cup on the 14th hole.

Ed Feuerstein posted his third career hole-in-one on the 12th hole at Saratoga National. He used a

4-iron from 200 yards.

EAGLES

Bobby Jones of the Misfits league holed out from 100 yards with a wedge on the 16th hole at Schen­ectady Municipal Golf Course.

Glenn Hartman eagled the ninth hole at Schenectady Municipal while participating in the Falvo Insurance league.

Frank Bleakley eagled the second hole while competing in the Mohawk Valley Golf League at Schenectady Municipal.
