The northbound side of the Thruway is fully open after a truck rollover shut down one lane just south of Albany, backing up traffic nearly 3 miles during the morning commute.
The Thruway Authority says the right lane reopened early Wednesday afternoon, about seven hours after a tandem truck crashed in the town of Bethlehem between Exits 22 and 23. State police say the driver apparently fell asleep and lost control of the truck, which rolled over and blocked both lanes of Interstate 90.
The left lane was soon reopened, but the right lane remained closed until almost 12:30 p.m. as crews cleaned up the scene.
The driver suffered minor injuries. Troopers say he wasn’t charged.
