Funeral services for 10-year old Kathina Thomas will be held Monday at Blessed Hope Worship Center, 193 Central Ave.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. and the funeral will follow at 6 p.m. said Rev. Ron Howard, minister at the church.
Thomas was killed Thursday when she was struck in the back by a stray bullet as she played in front of her home on First Street in the West Hill neighborhood. Police are following leads, but have made no arrests.
Howard said Thomas came to services at the the former Lady of Angels Church on the first Sunday in May and returned May 18, 20, 25, 27 and 28.
“She joined the church,” said Howard. “She was so excited after her first visit, she wanted to stay.”
Several relatives from Guyana are coming to the funeral, and an uncle who served in the Armed Forces is traveling here from Germany.
