Mueller takes over lead at Gazette Men’s County Am

Pratico one shot back

Jim Mueller, a five-time winner of the Gazette Men’s County Amateur Golf Championship, had birdies on the final three holes Saturday to shoot a three-under-par 69 and take a one-shot lead after the second round at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course.

Mueller, who has a two-day total of four-under-par 140, hasn’t won the tournament since 1996.

Paul Pratico, who was tied for the lead after the first round, had a one-under-par 71 and is a shot back at 141.

Ed Chylinski, who was tied with Pratico, shot a 76.

Robby Bigley Jr. eagled the 16th hole.

Chris Cross posted a 69, and is four shots back at 144.
