Union women’s hockey team adds 12 players

A big incoming class for the Dutchwomen.

Seven forwards, three defensemen and two goalies comprise the 12-person Union women’s hockey recruiting class, coach Claudia Asano announced Monday.

The forwards, with the team they previously played with in parentheses, are Kelly Alyea (Culver Academy), Emilie Arseneault (Brewster Academy), Adelle Calahan (Chicago Young Americans), Lauren Cromartie (Athol Murray College of Notre Dame), Molly Kate Devin (Lawrence Academy), Lauren Hoffman (Syracuse Stars) and Kim Kowalczyk (Chicago Mission).

The defensemen are Chelsey Heinhuis (Windsor Wildcats), Kaleigh Melia (Buckingham Browne & Nichols) and Dania Simmonds (Toronto Aeros).

The goalies are Kate Gallagher (Blake School) and Nicole Muske (Minnesota Thoroughbreds).
