Motorcyclist dies of injuries in Albany crash

An Albany motorcyclist who crashed his speeding bike into a car on New Scotland Avenue has died.

The man who crashed his motorcycle into a car Tuesday evening has died as a result of his injuries.

Devin Nolan, 22, of 635 Park Ave., was pronounced dead at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday.

Results of the accident reconstruction are not yet available, but a preliminary investigation found excessive speed to be the main cause of the accident, according to Detective James Miller, spokesman for the city Department of Public Safety .

Nolan was riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on New Scotland Avenue at a high rate of speed around 6 p.m. when he broadsided a Subaru that was making a left hand turn onto Academy Road, said Miller.

The woman driving the car was not injured.
