Several big defensive plays, plus three touchdown passes from Nick Ottati to Anthony Cooper, led Schenectady to 36-0 halftime lead, and the Patriots went on to defeat Colonie, 52-14, tonight for their second straight impressive win.

The Patriots, who whipped Shenendehowa in their opener, stung the Garnet Raiders quickly when Marc Thompson returned an interception 34 yards for a score on the first series. Thompson has also been effective on offense, with 68 rushing yards and a 30-yard pass reception.

Dan Desbiens returned a fumble 27 yards for another touchdown, and Herman Seise tacked on a 60-yard punt return for a score.

In the second half, Timmy Cox had a 55-yard kickoff return to score for Schenectady, and added as one-yard touchdown keeper as the backup quarterback.
