Union rallies to beat Quinnipiac, 6-5, in OT

Dutchmen overcome four-goal first-period deficit.

Stephane Boileau scored a power-play goal 2:22 into sudden-death overtime Friday, lifting the Union men’s hockey team to a stunning 6-5 victory over ECAC Hockey rival Quinnipiac in the first round of the Mutual of Omaha Stampede at Nebraska-Omaha.

The Dutchmen will face either Nebraska-Omaha or American International in Saturday’s championship game.

Union overcame a 4-0 first-period deficit. Brandon Wong had three of those goals.
