Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake built a 16-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat Bishop Maginn, 19-0, tonight in a matchup of unbeaten teams in the Class A Super Bowl at Colonie High School.

With their second Section II championship in three years, the 10-0 Spartans advance to p[lay Indian River in a regional game Friday, 7 p.m., at Watertown. The Griffins finished 9-1.

The Spartans scored on their first drive of the game, capped by Erik Vuillaume’s one-yard plunge, and quarterback Paul Layton ran for a six-yard score in the second quarter. Layton tacked on a 28-yard field goal to close the half, and booted 27-yarder in the second half.
