Luke Cain had a goal and two assists, and Union ended a long power-play slump with two goals as it beat 18th-ranked Harvard, 3-1, Saturday in an ECAC Hockey game at Messa Rink.
The win was Union’s first over Harvard at Messa since Feb. 24, 2001. The Dutchmen had been 0-6-1 since then.
Matt Cook and Lane Caffaro scored power-play goals in the second period for the Dutchmen, who had been 0 for their last 33 with the man advantage.
Harvard coach Ted Donato was ejected from the game with 39.3 seconds left after a Crimson goal was waved off following a video review. It was determined that Doug Rogers interfered with goalie Corey Milan as a shot by Alex Killorn went into the net.
