ALBANY – Edwin Ubiles scored 21 points to lead Siena to a 71-60 victory over Buffalo at the Times Union Center tonight.
Ubiles scored on a bank shot in transition and a breakaway dunk during a 6-0 run that gave Siena a 55-40 lead with seven minutes left.
Alex Franklin finished a three-point play to make it 60-44 with 5:05 left.
Buffalo never got closer than nine of the lead after that.
Siena scored the last eight points of the first half to take a 33-22 lead.
The Saints scored all of the points in transition, including back-to-back layups by Franklin.
Ubiles scored 10 points for Siena in the first half, and Rodney Pierce led Buffalo with 10. Pierce finished with 15.
