Sherman Baldwin is out at WROW, 590-AM.

The Latham-based radio station’s programming director and afternoon drive host said he was told this morning he had lost his job.

Baldwin’s co-host, John Garb, also was dismissed.

Baldwin said the move was a financial matter, and blamed the country’s continuing economic recession for the moves made by WROW owner Pamal Broadcasting. He began his afternoon drive program at WROW last Sept. 15, moving a top-rated program in western Massachusetts to the Capital Region.

The 49-year-old Baldwin, who now lives in Albany, said he expects to remain in the area. And he said he has already received interest in his services from another Capital Region station.
