Miguel Robles, 47, of Yates Village was charged this morning with two counts of second-degree assault, felonies.

Robles is accused of stabbing his 23-year-old stepdaughter five times, causing non-life-threatening puncture wounds, police spokesman Sgt. Eric Clifford said.

He is also accused of stabbing her 25-year-old friend three times when she came to her defense.

The incident stemmed from a birthday party/Father’s Day party earlier in the night, Clifford said. Robles had an argument with his wife and left, Clifford said. The argument continued later at home. When the stepdaughter confronted him, Robles stabbed her, Clifford said.

The two women were taken to Ellis Hospital for treatment.
