Goalie Keith Kinkaid stopped all three shots in the shootout, and Mario Valery-Trabucco scored the only one Friday to help Union beat Lake Superior State, 1-0, and advance to the championship game of the Rensselaer Holiday Tournament.
Since the NCAA doesn’t recognize shootouts, the game goes down as a scoreless tie. It’s the fourth time Union has played to a 0-0 tie in its Division I history.
