Authorities are searching for a man who on Thursday walked out of Frank Adams Jewelry Store with an expensive diamond necklace that he didn’t pay for.
Investigators said the man walked into the store in Stuyvesant Plaza shortly before 5 p.m. and asked to look at an 18-karat white gold ladies’ “diamond pavé-set” necklace. After a clerk handed him the jewlery, the man allegedly said “I’ll take it.”
True to his words, the man turned and walked out of the store without paying for the necklace, which was valued at $29,000. Attempts to locate the man in the plaza’s parking lot were unsuccessful.
The area was canvassed by state police and Guilderland police, but the suspect was never found. State police are requesting assistance in identifying the man in surveillance photographs taken from the store.
Anyone with further information is asked to contact the state Police at 783-3211.
