Riley Nash tipped in a Patrick Kennedy pass over the glove of Keith Kinkaid with 5:55 left in the third period Saturday, helping seventh-ranked Cornell get a 2-2 ECAC Hockey tie with Union at Messa Rink.
The tie extended Union’s unbeaten streak to eight games (4-0-4). The Dutchmen remain unbeaten (3-0-3) in league play.
Kennedy came down the left wing, and sent the puck to Nash, who was skating to the net. He got his stick on the puck, and it flew over Kinkaid’s left shoulder.
Mario Valery-Trabucco’s seventh goal of the year snapped a 1-1 tie late in the second period and gave Union a 2-1 lead.
Just over a minute after Brendon Nash scored a power-play goal for the Big Red during a two-man advantage, Valery-Trabucco took a John Simpson pass and fired a shot from the right circle past goalie Ben Scrivens with 2:34 left in the second.
Jason Walters scored the game’s first goal at 12:56 of the second.
