‘Did You Hear About the Morgans?” is a ship without a rudder, floating and then sinking from the moment it touches water. It is so hopelessly inept that you feel like a big, bad bully picking on it.

Then again, you have to plunk down loot to enter the theater where will it not, I predict, be on screens for more than a week. Phew!

Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker appear as a fractured couple trying to mend a marriage at the same time they are escaping a mob hit, not of their making. So reluctantly, they abandon Manhattan for the sticks of Wyoming. That is, the Witness Protection Program. Who knows? Maybe they’ll run into a moose or Dick Cheney.

No such luck. Instead, they hang with a local couple, a regeneration of Ma and Pa Kettle, played by Sam Elliot and Mary Steenburgen.

Will the city slickers revive their relationship? Will we see a moose? How in the world did this fractured mishap get made? Consider this errant comedy a holiday bomb.
