ORWELL, Vt. — The Lake Champlain ferry between Ticonderoga and Orwell, Vt., is running again.

Officials say the ferry was closed Friday and Saturday because of weather conditions.

The ferry resumed operations on Sunday and is expected to continue operating this week.

Meanwhile, the countdown continues for a planned Wednesday demolition of the Lake Champlain Bridge between Addison and Crown Point, N.Y.

The bridge was closed in October after it was found to be unsafe. Plans are being made to construct a replacement bridge.

Commuters have been scrambling to find ways across the lake. Preparations are continuing to build a temporary, year-round ferry crossing near the bridge site.
