The ownership of Colonie’s Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships officially changed hands today, according to new owner Eric Kahn, who owns Capital Volvo of Albany and Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie.

Kahn bought the dealerships from Keeler Motor Car Corp. and will house the dealerships, set to be called “Jaguar Albany” and “Land Rover Albany,” next to his Volvo dealership on New Karner Road.

Terms of the acquisition were not released. Kahn said he is bullish on the sales prospects of the acquired brands.

“We are seeking to create a European luxury car destination for Capital Region residents, where car buyers can shop and compare from among the finest vehicles built in the world,” he said in the announcement.

Today’s announcement marks Kath’s fourth dealership acquisition since 2006, when he bought Capital Volvo of Albany. He bought his Honda dealership in Poughkeepsie in 2007.

Kahn lives in Armonk.

“While we have achieved so much at Capital Volvo this past year, we believe the Jaguar and Land Rover brands will complement Volvo and bring the business in Albany to a new level,” he said.
