A bicyclist was hit by a drunk driver earlier this morning on State Street, police said.
The bike rider suffered head injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center by ambulance with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, police spokesman officer Michael Crounse said.
Charged with driving while intoxicated was the driver, identified by police as Brian Franklin, of Carrie Street.
Franklin was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer west on State Street when he hit the bicyclist, wedging the bike under his vehicle, Crounse said.
Investigators continue to interview witnesses and examine evidence, Crounse said.
