What will it be like in the town of Malta with more traffic, noise and people? With the new GlobalFoundries chip plant, you will soon understand what it will be like.
When the new GlobalFoundries chip plant is finished, more families will be moving to the area to get a job. Our schools’ classrooms are already very full. Where will we put these new students? That’s what some school teachers are wondering.
There will be increased noise when the plant arrives. The chip plant happens to be near many local housing developments, including my family’s home. My father says, “It’s always very noisy in my neighborhood.” It may become too loud for people to want to listen to, so complaints may be filed against GlobalFoundries.
It may bring too many cars to the area, causing pollution to natural resources near the plant. There will be many good nature walks near the GlobalFoundries plant. It won’t be good if they get polluted.
Although GlobalFoundries will bring more than 1,500 high-paying jobs, the noise and pollution that the chip factory generate may be a cost that our community may find too costly.
