Nick Bailen scored a power-play goal during a two-man advantage with 2:04 left in overtime Saturday, lifting No. 18 RPI to a wild 4-3 ECAC Hockey win over No. 12 Union at Houston Field House.

For the second straight night, there was a controversial play in the final seconds. With Union clinging to a 3-2 lead, RPI was on a five-minute the power play for the final 1:51 of regulation after Union defenseman Mike Ingoldsby was called for a major hitting from behind.

With just five seconds left, goalie Keith Kinkaid made a couple of saves. As the clock wound down to 0:00, Marty O’Grady put the puck past Kinkaid. The clock read 0:00, but the officials said the goal was scored before time expired.

In Union’s 2-1 win Friday, RPI had a goal waved off with 7.6 seconds left in the game because of contact with Kinkaid.
