A volunteer firefighter charged with possessing child pornography last month was arrested again on Tuesday and charged with felony child sex abuse.
Randolph D. Billington, 31, of 20 Jackson St., Amsterdam, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, according to a release from the Amsterdam Police Department.
Police said an allegation that Billington had sexual contact with a child younger than 11 surfaced during a joint investigation with the Montgomery County Social Services Department conducted while Billington was in jail on charges lodged in March.
Billington was charged then with possessing an obscene sexual performance of a child after an investigation into child pornography found on a Fort Johnson Volunteer Fire Co. computer.
