The head of the county Democratic party plans to step down Wednesday to run for an international union position, and a Clifton Park man will take his place.
Larry Bulman, who has been chairman of the Saratoga County Democratic Committee since 2001, said today he plans to announce his resignation as chairman, but will stay on the committee as a member. He will run for a position as international representative for his parent union, the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada.
First vice chairman Todd Kerner of Clifton Park will hold the party chairmanship at least until the county party reorganizes in September 2012.
Bulman’s resignation will be effective June 30.
