A 13-year-old boy in the Town of Westerlo may lose his left eye after getting hitting in the face with a rock at a house party on Saturday.

According to the Albany County Sheriff’s, the injured teen was at a house party at 100 Udell Road when another attendee threw several rocks at him, despite being asked to stop.

The victim was taken to the Albany Medical Center Hospital Emergency Room by his father, where the injured male was diagnosed with a ruptured eyeball and received 76 sutures. Police said that doctors are unsure if they will be able to save the damaged eye.

The alleged rock thrower, a 13-year-old boy, was arrested on Thursday and charged with felony assault in the second degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree, sheriff said. He was arraigned in Albany County Family Court and released under the supervision of his parents, with a hearing set for June 20.
