Three people were accused Friday of trying to purchase goods worth $500 with counterfeit checks at Marshalls department store in Clifton Park.

Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies allege that Anais Pena, 18, of Woodhaven, Dario Harding, 33, of White Plains, and Kim McArthur, 41, of Brooklyn, were at Marshalls on Clifton Country Road #1, when Pena purchased a large amount of merchandise with five counterfeit $100 American Express traveler’s checks.

Ten more counterfeit traveler’s checks were discovered in Pena’s vehicle, which the three were traveling in to New York City.

Each was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a elony. They were arraigned in the Halfmoon Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County jail.
