A city teen was arrested Wednesday after police concluded a two-week investigation involving sex offenses against several underage females, said Detective Mike Jory of Gloversville police.

Police learned that David Heise, 17, of 127 Sixth Ave., allegedly had engaged in sexual conduct with three underage girls from Gloversville. Their investigation found he had intercourse with a 13-year-old numerous times over the course of a year. Police allege he also had sexual contact with two other girls, ages 12 and 13.

Jory said police first learned of the crimes from a recent review of school attendance during Jory’s role as juvenile officer.

“We were looking into a report of several underage girls being truant from school,” Jory said. “We saw this group of girls were truant for a while, a couple days here and there.”

Heise was arrested and charged with second-degree sexual abuse and sexual misconduct, class A misdemeanors. He was remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
