Extended swimming hours are being offered at state parks and state swimming facilities at the direction of Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The extended hours will begin today and continue until Saturday evening and include several locations in the Capital Region.
“One way to stay cool during this severe heat wave is to visit one of our beautiful state beaches, pools and parks,” said in a statement. “These high temperatures can be dangerous if New Yorkers don’t take the proper precautions. Offering these extended hours will help New Yorkers beat the heat.”
The following locations in the Capital Region will remain open until 8 p.m.
The Victoria Pool in Saratoga Spa State Park
The swimming pool at Minekill State Park
The beaches at Thompson’s Lake, Moreau Lake and Grafton Lakes State Parks
