The Albany County Sheriffs Department is investigating a single-engine plane crash that claimed the life of an Ohio man Monday evening.
Steven G. Blackburn, 57, of East Grove City, Ohio, died after his Piper Cherokee crashed in a wooded area off Elm Drive.
Emergency crews from the Berne Fire Department and Helderberg Rescue Squad were dispatched to the scene, as well as members of the sheriffs department.
Blackburn was en route to Albany on business, deputies said. Members of the FAA and NTSB will be on the scene today investigating the crash.
