A 20-year-old woman was accused of intentionally ramming her car into the vehicle of her former boyfriend’s new girlfriend on Sunday.

Ashley L. Norris, of 17 Henry St., was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident, both misdemeanors, said Amsterdam police Lt. Kurt Conroy.

No one was in the car, which was parked outside 22 Union St., and no one was injured when Norris drove her Hyundai Elantra into the Chevrolet Cavalier.

“The victim saw her,” Conroy said. “The next day, she turned herself in and the vehicle was photographed.”

Although Norris intentionally damaged the woman’s property, Conroy said, the estimated damage was just more than $250, lowering the crime to a misdemeanor-level offense.

Norris was released on a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
