A 5-year-old boy was seriously hurt tonight after being struck by a stolen car.
The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. in the area of 339 Division St., and police said the vehicle fled the scene.
The boy, who was not identified, was treated at the scene by Schenectady firefighter paramedics and airlifted to Albany Medical Center with serious head injuries.
Police found the vehicle unoccupied a short time later near the intersection of Becker and McClellan streets. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Troy on Aug. 25, police said.
The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call Schenectady police at 382-5200.
