Patti Vitale of Schenectady has been named head of the Brown School, a non-sectarian independent school.

Vitale had been acting head of school for the past year. Previously, she worked as an educator at Brown School teaching mostly second grade.

“I am honored to have been named to this position. As head of school I plan to work with our team to continue to improve the lives of our students and instill a love of learning in each child. My vision is also for Brown School to continue to serve the community with creative problem solving programs,” Vitale said.

Board Chair Susan McClymonds said, “Patti continues to prove herself time and time again as a successful and innate leader. Under her leadership, we are experiencing positive growth and are working hard to reach our goals.”
