Two men suspected of assault and robbery outside the Saratoga Springs Public Library have been arrested by police.

Sean Michael Wilson, 23, of Ash Street, and Adriano Bonopaladino, 34, of Florida, were chaged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a Class E felony, assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, and robbery in the first degree, a Class B felony. The charges stem from an incident on Sunday, which was discovered by police on Monday.

On Monday, police received a report about a 28-year-old male who was treated at Albany Medical Center for injuries sustained the night before in the commission of a robbery. Between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, the victim was assaulted and had his wallet stolen while he was unconscious, according to the report.

Investigating officers established two suspects in the case and tracked suspicious purchases on the victim’s credit cards, which led them to Wilson’s Ash Street residence on Wednesday afternoon.

During a search of the home, police located items belonging to the victim and the items that were purchased with his credit card. Stemming from this search, Wilson was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Wilson and Bonopaladino were both arraigned in city court and are scheduled to appear again on Sept. 27.
