A New York woman has been accused of running over a bound man who she says promised her $180,000 if she ended his life.
State police say 74-year-old Francis Nelson was found dead, his hands and feet still tied, near his abandoned car on a rural road Tuesday morning. They say 28-year-old Jennifer Riesel told investigators that Nelson asked her to kill him.
Investigators say no money ever changed hands.
Riesel and Nelson are both from Little Falls, a small city about 50 miles west of Schenectady where Nelson worked at the wastewater treatment plant before retiring. Trooper Jack Keller says today the two were friends.
Riesel is jailed on a second-degree murder charge. Officials didn’t know if she has a lawyer.
